BRIEF: Cloud 9 Fresh is a pioneer in the clean food and technology space consulting and operational management services. They came to me to craft a brand voice and to consult on the UX/UI direction.
PROCESS: The copywriting needed to reflect an approachable, reliable and experienced team. We started off a little too cheeky at first - taking metaphor a little too far - but through iterations came to a fresh brand voice that feels conversational and professional.
I also consulted with the UX/UI re-design of their site where I created a visual guide for the developer (below), laying out the flow and giving clear UI changes to improve user comprehension. The challenge here was to prioritize content correctly, which was solved by user interviews and analyzing industry user flows.
BRIEF: Transitioning between business models, Mo Clancy’s Seed + Salt restaurant was expanding it’s reach from the locals in San Francisco to the global stage. The brief was to create a design that feels modern, has an e-commerce component and keeps the world informed on upcoming developments, including an Instagram module which functions in real-time.
PROCESS: I chose to use a parallax effect to give the site a dimensional feel. Simple sans serif fonts and enticing brand photography. A challenge I came across was troubleshooting technical issues with the parallax effect. Through research, trial-n-error, as well as a clear communicative solution-focused dialogue with my developer we got the effect working better and opted for mobile to stack for simplicity’s sake.
BRIEF: John came to me to make adjustments to his SquareSpace site in order to improve conversion. Through a thorough comb-through from a User Experience and User Interface stance, I identified many tweaks that could be made, while also set in place a SEO plan moving forward.
Looking at our goals in Google Analytics, we saw an overall:
- 24% increase in traffic
- 12.8% increase in session durations
- 10.4% decrease in bounce rate
We installed Privy (email capture software), and gathered twice the amount of emails from rather just the use of a static ‘Newsletter Sign-up’ module on the site.
